During the 2014 Fiscal Year, Grassroots International provided $1.8 million in cash grants and material aid to leading social movements around the world. Every dollar awarded puts air under the wings of some of the world’s most tenacious global movements for human rights to land, water and food. and grassroots mobilization for climate justice.
Over our history, Grassroots has awarded more than $42 million to hundreds of key and effective partners. Active support of our donors makes all this work possible. Through grantmaking and advocacy, we play a vital role in supporting global movements that address the root causes of the challenges we face. We monitor the work on the ground to ensure that donations help create a more just and sustainable future.
Grassroots International does not seek or accept U.S. government funding, which allows us to speak out in support of global justice.

The well is near a botanical garden that women in the community keep and tend primarily for medicinal purposes, and is also near where the women have created a storage facility for them to collectively store and then sell corn and other important local food products.
